A SURPRISE ENDING:
REBECCA’S ENIGMA
“To begin with,
the Jews were entrusted
with the oracles of God.”
(Romans 3:2)
A “Surprise Ending” to the Climax of All Human History …
Our studies would not be complete if we didn’t try to unravel another great mystery which still remains after studying these many remarkable prophecies found in this “Prophetic Rise of Rome” section of Bible Prophecies.
To do so, we are going to have to think Jewish!!
This is because the ancient Scriptures and Hebrew writings that contain all the deep mysteries, enigmas, riddles, and prophecies (along with the answers), came through the children of Israel (Jacob), who were set aside and chosen by God as a nation separate from all other nations for exactly this purpose, as Paul reminds us in the book of Romans …
“To begin with,
the Jews were entrusted
with the oracles of God.”
(Romans 3:2)
Our ancient mystery rises out of the womb of Rebecca …
In Genesis 25:19-26 we find after many years of marriage, Abraham’s son Isaac (and his wife Rebecca) prayed for children and God answered him with twins, Esau and Jacob.
“And the LORD said to her (Rebecca):
“Two nations are in your womb,
Two peoples shall be separated from your body”
(Genesis 25:23)
The “mystery” of God’s Plan for the redemption of the whole world might now rest upon those two twins which were to rise as nations out of Rebecca’s womb.
This study may be a bit startling to some!
Since most already know what Jacob’s (Israel’s) role is in the redemption of all Mankind (through Messiah/Christ), our ancient mystery now swirls around the prophetic role which Rebecca’s other twin, Esau, might play in these “last days.”
We will try to unravel this ancient mystery in TWO Parts:
Part 1: ESAU & “ROME”: The final Kingdom of this Age called the “BEAST” (per Daniel and Revelation) which will rise and be ruled by the “Willful King” (the Antichrist)
Part 2: ESAU & “THE WOMAN ON THE BEAST”: The final Religion of this Age which the Woman will wickedly rule over alongside her “King” (the Antichrist)
To begin our prophetic journey, it is important to understand the Bible wants us to know (and learn) “Esau = Edom.” These two names are synonymous …
“So Esau dwelt in Mount Seir.
Esau IS Edom.”
(Genesis 36:8)
The next step along this amazing journey (and easily confirmed through a simple Google search) is to also learn that for over 2000 years Jewish rabbis have taught: “EDOM = ROME!!”
BUT, WHY??
Several reasons are usually listed, but the most common one is because Herod the Great (and all the Herods that followed him to rule in Israel during Biblical times) represented both Rome (because he was a Roman ruler) and Edom (because he was an “Idumean” which is another word for “Edomite”).
So, in Jewish minds, Herod marks Edom’s “transition” into Rome (which they also equate with “Christianity”).
Our journey will take us much deeper …
We are going to find the real Esau (Edom) relationship to Rome goes far deeper, is far more remarkable, and has a history far more ancient than one can imagine!
To assist us through our amazing journey through time to unravel this prophetic mystery concerning Esau and Rome (including their shared enmity against Israel), we must now dust off and unroll the ancient Hebrew scroll of Jasher.
To assure ourselves we are not running off onto an unmarked bunny trail, in the books of Joshua, 2 Samuel, and 2 Timothy we find the Bible even refers us to this same book of Jasher.
As a note, the title of the “book of Jasher” does not refer to a person, but means the book of the “Upright” or “Righteous.”
The Book of Jasher is referenced in the Bible
In the book of Joshua we will find the first Bible passage which directly points us to the book of Jasher …
“… and he (Joshua) said in the sight of Israel,
Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon;
and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
And the Sun stood still, and the Moon stayed,
until the people avenged themselves upon their enemies.
Is it not written in the book of Jasher?
So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven,
and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
And there was no day like that before it or after it
that the Lord hearkened to the voice of man:
For the Lord fought for Israel.”
(Joshua 10:12-13)
Now, let’s compare this passage in Joshua to the verse actually found in the ancient book of Jasher (88:63-64) …
“… and Joshua said in the sight of all the people, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon, and thou moon in the valley of Ajalon, until the nation shall have revenged itself upon its enemies… And the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens, and it stood still six and thirty moments, and the Moon also stood still and hastened not to go down a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it that the Lord hearkened to the voice of man, for the Lord fought for Israel.” (Jasher 88:63-64)
In 2 Samuel we find our next reference to the book of Jasher.
However, this time we find it is not just a direct quotation from the book of Jasher, as we saw with the quote in Joshua.
But, in this passage taken from the book of 2 Samuel, we find David referring to something Jacob (Israel) said that can only be found in the Book of Jasher …
“Also he bade them teach the children of Judah
the use of the bow:
Behold it is written in the book of Jasher.”
(2 Samuel 1:17)
In this verse, David is referring to the dying words of Jacob to Judah which can only be found in the book of Jasher …
“Teach thy sons (the children of Judah)
the use of the bow
and all weapons of war,
In order that they may fight
the battles of their brother
who will rule over his enemies.”
(Jasher 56:9)
So, we find the book of Jasher expands on David’s quote and then adds details which are not found in the Bible!
Next, in the New Testament book of 2 Timothy, the Apostle Paul names the two magicians who withstood Moses before Pharaoh: Jannes and Jambres.
Even though this event is found in Exodus 7:8-13, the names of the magicians are never given in the Old Testament.
Yet, Paul knew their names from other Hebrew sources, and one of these ancient Hebrew sources is the book Of Jasher.
From the New Testament …
“Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses,
so do these also resist the truth”
(2 Timothy 3:8-9)
Now, from the book of Jasher …
“And when they had gone
Pharaoh sent for Balaam the magician
and to Jannes and Jambres his sons,
and to all the magicians and conjurors and counsellors
which belonged to the king,
and they all came and sat before the king …
And Aaron hastened and threw the rod out of his hand
before Pharaoh and before his servants,
and the rod turned into a serpent …
And the sorcerers saw this
and they cast each man his rod upon the ground
and they became serpents.
And the serpent of Aaron’s rod lifted up its head
and opened its mouth to swallow
the rods of the magicians.”
(Jasher 79:27, 37-36)
Once again, the book of Jasher adds some interesting details not found in the Bible!
The Book of Jasher was not meant to be in the Bible
The book of Jasher was never meant to be part of the Bible.
It is basically a Hebrew history book that takes us through the times of Genesis to Joshua and provides more details (some which are incredulous) surrounding many of the famous characters and events which we find in the Bible.
Even though there have been at least two forgeries, the copy translated in 1840 which we are using here contains all of the passages directly referenced in the Bible, while the forgeries do not contain these Biblical passages.
However, over the years parts of this book may have been corrupted or mistranslated, so we are not going to argue the current translation we are using is perfect.
Our main interest lies in those passages and stories that agree with (and compliment) the Bible with no contradictions.
Part 1: Esau & Rome
Taken from the ancient book of Jasher.
We first find the children of “Chittim” (who will later expand into Rome) emigrated to Italy after God destroyed the Tower of Babel back in the days of Abraham …
“And in those days, in the ninety-first year of the life of Abram, the children of Chittim … went and embodied themselves in the plain of Canopia, and they built themselves cities there and dwelt by the river Tiber (Tibreu, in Italy). And the children of Tubal (later to be conquered and also absorbed into Rome) dwelt in Tuscany (Tuscanah, in Italy)”
(Jasher 17:1-2)
Then, around the time Esau and Jacob’s mother Rebecca dies, Esau moves his family to Seir-Edom (we will soon start to follow his grandson “Zepho” on our journey)
“And his (Jacob’s) brother Esau and his sons, and all belonging to him went to the land of Seir (Edom) … and the children of Esau were fruitful and multiplied exceedingly in the land of Seir (Edom). And these are the generations of Esau that were born to him in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Esau were five. And Adah bare to Esau his first born Eliphaz … and the sons of Eliphaz the son of Esau were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, Kenaz and Amalex …”
(Jasher 36:20-23)
Later, after Jacob dies in Egypt, Esau tells the sons of Jacob (Israel) they can’t bury Jacob in Abraham’s Tomb
”And Joseph and his brethren brought their father Jacob from that place (in Egypt), and they went to Hebron to bury Jacob in the cave by his fathers.
“And they came unto Kireath-arba, to the cave, and as they came Esau stood with his sons against Joseph and his brethren as a hindrance in the cave, saying, Jacob shall not be buried therein, for it belongs to us (Esau’s sons) and to our father (Esau).
“And Joseph and his brethren heard the words of Esau’s sons, and they were exceedingly wroth (angry).”
(Jasher 56:49-51)
Esau killed fighting Jacob’s (Israel’s) sons over the tomb
“And all the sons of Jacob and the people of Egypt fought with Esau and his men, and the sons of Esau and his people were smitten before the sons of Jacob, and the sons of Jacob slew of Esau’s people forty men. And Chushim the son of Dan, the son of Jacob … ran to Esau in the midst of the battle, and he slew Esau with a sword, and he cut off his head, and it sprang to a distance, and Esau fell amongst the people of the battle … and the sons of Jacob buried their father Jacob by force in the cave, and the sons of Esau beheld it. And Jacob was buried in Hebron, in the cave of Machpelah which Abraham had bought.”
(Jasher 56:61-66)
The sons of Esau wage war against Jacob’s (Israel’s) sons and Esau’s grandson “Zepho” is taken captive
“And it was after this that the sons of Esau waged war with the sons of Jacob, and the sons of Esau fought with the sons of Jacob in Hebron, and Esau was still lying dead, and not buried. And the battle was heavy between them, and the sons of Esau were smitten before the sons of Jacob … and the hand of Joseph prevailed over all the people of the sons of Esau, and he took Zepho, the son of Eliphaz, the son of Esau, and fifty of his men captive, and he bound them with chains of iron, and gave them into the hand of his servants to bring them to Egypt. And it came to pass when the sons of Jacob had taken Zepho and his people captive, all those that remained were greatly afraid of their lives from the house of Esau, lest they should also be taken captive, and they all fled with Eliphaz the son of Esau and his people, with Esau’s body, and they went on their road to Mount Seir (Edom).”
(Jasher 57: 1-3)
Children of Esau then hated children of Jacob (Israel)
“And when Joseph returned to Egypt he ordered Zepho (Esau’s grandson) and his men to be additionally bound,
and they bound them in irons and they increased their grief …
But from that day forward the children of Esau hated the sons of Jacob,
and the hatred and enmity (hatred) were very strong between them
all the days, unto this day.”
(Jasher 58:24, 28)
Esau’s grandson Zepho escapes and flees Egypt
“And when the year came round, being the seventy-second year from the Israelites going down to Egypt, after the death of Joseph, Zepho, the son of Eliphaz, the son of Esau, fled from Egypt, he and his men, and they went away … And he came to Africa, which is Dinhabah, to Angeas king of Africa, and Angeas received them with great honor, and he made Zepho the captain of his army (host).”
(Jasher 60:1-2)
Zepho becomes a military commander for the king of Africa and helps him attack Chittim (in Italy)
“The king of Africa would go to Chittim (in Italy) to spoil and plunder it, and whenever they went, Zepho the captain of the host of Angeas would go with them.”
(Jasher 60:30)
Zepho tries to entice the king to attack Israel in Egypt
“And Zepho the son of Eliphaz the son of Esau, was still enticing Angeas to prepare for battle to fight with the sons of Jacob in Egypt, and Angeas was unwilling to do this.”
(Jasher 61:5)
Esau’s grandson Zepho flees Africa for Italy (Chittim) where he is received with honor
“And when Zepho the son of Eliphaz (the son of Esau) saw that Angeas despaired of going forth to battle with the Egyptians, Zepho fled from Angeas from Africa, and he went and came unto Chittim.
“And all the people of Chittim (in Italy) received him with great honor, and they hired him to fight their battles all the days, and Zepho became exceedingly rich in those days.”
(Jasher 61:12-13)
ROME IS BORN! Zepho conquers all of Italy’s city states
“And the children of Chittim saw the valor of Zepho, and the children of Chittim resolved and they made Zepho (Esau’s grandson) king over them, and he became king over them, and whilst he reigned they went to subdue the children of Tubal (Tuscany), and all the surrounding islands (around Italy from which “Rome” was formed).”
(Jasher 61:24)
Esau’s grandson Zepho REIGNS over Rome for 50 Years
“And their king Zepho went at their head and they made war with Tubal and the islands (around Italy), and they subdued them, and when they returned from the battle they built for him a very large palace … and made a large throne for him, and Zepho reigned over the whole land of Chittim and over the land of Italia (Rome) fifty years.”
(Jasher 61:24)
Zepho and Rome then enlist Edom to attack Israel
“And Zepho sent messengers to Hadad, son of Bedad, king of Edom, and to all his brethren the children of Esau (Zepho’s grandfather), saying, ‘Did you not say that you would not fight against the king of Africa for he is a member of your covenant? Behold I fought with him and smote him and all his people. Now therefore I have resolved to fight against Egypt and the children of Jacob who are there, and I will be revenged of them for what Joseph, his brethren and ancestors did to us in the land of Canaan when they went up to bury their father in Hebron. Now then if you are willing to come to me to assist me in fighting against them and Egypt, then shall we avenge the cause of our brethren. And the children of Esau hearkened to the words of Zepho (but, they lose).”
(Jasher 64:10-15)
Later, (when Joshua enters Israel) Rome conquers Edom
“At that time in the fifth year after the children of Israel had passed over Jordan, after the children of Israel had rested from their war with the Canaanites, at that time great and severe battles arose between Edom and the children of Chittim (Rome), and the children of Chittim fought against Edom … And the hand of Rome (Chittim) prevailed over the children of Esau (Edom)”
(Jasher 90:1-8)
EDOM (Esau) now becomes “ONE” with ROME!
And Rome (Chittim) ruled over Edom, and Edom became under the hand of the children of Chittim and became one kingdom from that day. And from that time they could no more lift up their heads, and their kingdom (EDOM) became ONE with ROME (Chittim)”
(Jasher 90:9)
Later, Rome’s king “Latinus” defeats Britain and Greece (Javan) and subdues a revolt against Rome in Edom
“And it came to pass in those days, that Abianus king of Chittim died, in the thirty-eighth year of his reign, that is the seventh year of his reign over Edom … that Latinus reigned in his stead fifty years. And during his reign he brought forth an army, and he went and fought against the inhabitants of Britannia and Kernania (Germany?), the children of Elisha son of Javan (Greece), and he prevailed over them and made them tributary … He then heard that Edom had revolted from under the hand of Rome (Chittim), and Latinus went to them and smote them and subdued them, and placed them under the hand of the Rome (Chittim), and Edom (again) became one kingdom with Rome (Chittim) all the days.”
(Jasher 90:28-31)
Around this same time Joshua speaks his last words to Israel
“And it was in the twenty-sixth year after the children of Israel had passed the Jordan, that is the sixty-sixth year after the children of Israel had departed from Egypt, that Joshua was old, advanced in years, being one hundred and eight years old in those days. And Joshua called to all Israel, after the Lord had given to all the Israelites rest from all their enemies round about, and Joshua said to the elders of Israel, and to their judges, Behold I am old, advanced in years, and you have seen what the Lord has done to all the nations whom he has driven away from before you, for it is the Lord who has fought for you.”
(Jasher 90:32-33)
Now, let’s fast-forward from Ancient Edom to MODERN Times!!
We are told in Bible Prophecy that modern day Jordan (which includes ancient Edom, Moab, and Ammon) will be “spared” by the Roman Antichrist when he invades …
“He (the coming Antichrist)
shall also enter the Glorious Land (Israel),
and many countries shall be overthrown;
But these shall “escape” from his hand:
Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon.”
(Edom, Moab, Ammon all comprise modern Jordan!)
(Daniel 11:41)
Jordan’s prophetic role lies in its end-times relationship with Rome. We are warned it will act treacherously against Israel and will be destroyed by God at the time of Armageddon.
But, isn’t Jordan (Edom) Islamic??
It seems Rome’s relationship to Islam may be much closer than one might think (Pope John Paul II’s most frequent visitor was Yasser Arafat and current Pope Francis is strongly promoting Islam’s mass immigration into Europe).
Here’s a list of Jordanian leaders who have been trained and educated by ROME at JESUIT Georgetown University:
– King of Jordan
(Abdullah II bin al-Hussein)
– Deputy Prime Minister of Jordan
(Nasser Judeh)
– Half-brother of King Abdullah II of Jordan
(Prince Hashim bin Hussein)
– Prince Talal bin Muhammad of Jordan
(Younger Brother of King Hussein of Jordan)
– Princess Ghida al-Talal of Jordan
– Princess Iman bint Abdullah of Jordan
– Jordanian Minister of Education and Research
(Amin Mahmoud)
– Jordanian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities
(Lina Annab)
Also consider the fact that the Jordanian (Edomite) king now holds control over the Holy Temple Mount in Jerusalem!!
An Historical Note on the Roman Jesuits …
“Between 1555 and 1931 the Society of Jesus [i.e., the Jesuit Order] was expelled from at least 83 countries, city states and cities, for engaging in political intrigue and subversion plots against the welfare of the State, according to the records of a Jesuit priest of repute [Thomas Campbell]. Practically every instance of expulsion was for political intrigue, political infiltration, political subversion, and inciting to political insurrection.” (1987) J.E.C. Shepherd (Canadian historian)
America is one of the few that never expelled the Jesuits.
However, as we read earlier, we considered it …
In 1816 John Adams wrote to Thomas Jefferson
“I do not like the reappearance of the Jesuits … If ever there was a body of men who merited damnation on earth and in Hell, it is this society of Loyola’s. Nevertheless, we are compelled by our system of religious toleration to offer them an asylum.”
God’s Curse against Rome (Edom) & Jordan …
“I have loved you (Israel),” says the Lord.
But you say, “How have you loved us?”
“Is not Esau Jacob’s brother?” declares the Lord.
“Yet I have loved Jacob (Israel)
But ESAU (Edom) I have hated …
and they (Edom/Rome) will be called ‘the wicked country,’
and ‘the people with whom the Lord is angry forever.’”
(Malachi 1:1-2,5)
Part 2: Esau & “The Woman” (On The Beast)
Now that we have established a prophetic relationship between Esau (the twin brother of Israel) and Rome (where the “Woman on the Beast” of Revelation 17 will sit enthroned … The “Woman” Who Rides The Beast), can we establish a relationship between Esau and the religion this Woman represents, which first began to rise soon after the Flood with Noah’s great-grandson NIMROD?
We will find Satan used Nimrod to manifest himself (Satan) as “god” on Earth (and then worshiped as the Sun-god Jupiter, Baal, etc.) in order to turn Mankind away from God.
Can we find any connection between ESAU and NIMROD?
Could Satan, (the “evil one” who is also called “god of this world” in 2 Corinthians 4:4 and the “Ruler of this world” in John 12:31) ever have believed it would be advantageous to allow Esau to inherit Nimrod’s power (as God did with Elijah and Elisha when Elisha inherited the cloak and power of Elijah), and even Nimrod’s “Woman” (Religion)?
Maybe, especially since by this time Satan knew the Messiah/Christ (sent forth to defeat Satan) would one day come through the line of Jacob (Israel), Esau’s twin brother.
In order help solve this mystery we must pay close attention to any clues God may have provided which could establish a relationship between Nimrod and Esau (whom we now know embodies Rome, the “Beast”) and will one day rule alongside the “Woman” (Nimrod’s Queen and Religion) whom God warns will direct Rome (Esau), “in the last days”!!
Our search bears fruit …
We quickly find one interesting Biblical connection in that both Nimrod and Esau are described as mighty “hunters.” In fact they are the only two men that God describes as “hunters” in the Bible, which makes it worth noting.
Then, as we broaden our search even further to include the book of Jasher (which we found earlier often expands and adds details concerning people and events found in the Bible) we discover a lot of added information written about them.
We soon find both Esau and Nimrod hunted in the same area, and that another of Nimrod’s many names was “Amraphel,” (which is also found in Genesis 14:1) …
“And Esau at that time, after the death of Abraham,
frequently went in the field to hunt.
And Nimrod king of Babel,
the same was Amraphel,
also frequently went with his mighty men
and to walk about with his men
in the cool of the day.”
(Jasher 27:1-2)
Then, we find Nimrod not only knew of Esau, but he also had been carefully watching him! This is because earlier (in Jasher 8:1-14) we are told that when Abraham was born Nimrod’s wise men and magicians received a prophetic vision warning Nimrod would be killed by Abraham or by one of his descendants, at which time Nimrod unsuccessfully tried to kill Abraham.
“And Nimrod was observing Esau all the days,
for a jealousy was formed in the heart of Nimrod
against Esau all the days.”
(Jasher 27:3)
Now, we find Esau (as the mighty hunter and predator), spots Nimrod (his prey), and then carefully conceals himself (“lurks”) until Nimrod draws near enough for Esau to spring forth and quickly kill Nimrod by cutting off his head!
“And on a certain day Esau
went in the field to hunt,
and he found Nimrod
walking in the wilderness
with his two men.
“And all his mighty men and his people
were with him in the wilderness,
but they removed at a distance from him,
and they went from him in different directions to hunt,
and Esau concealed himself for Nimrod,
and he lurked for him in the wilderness.
“And Nimrod and two of his men that were with him
came to the place where they were,
when Esau started suddenly from his lurking place,
and drew his sword,
and hastened and ran to Nimrod
and cut off his head.”
(Jasher 27:4-5, 7)
Esau then fights a desperate fight with Nimrod’s two bodyguards who are able to sound an alarm before Esau can kill them …
“And Esau fought a desperate fight
with the two men that were with Nimrod,
and when they called out to him,
Esau turned to them and smote them
to death with his sword.
“And all the mighty men of Nimrod,
who had left him to go to the wilderness,
heard the cry at a distance,
and they knew the voices of those two men,
and they ran to know the cause of it,
when they found their king and the two men
that were with him lying dead in the wilderness.”
(Jasher 27:8-9)
Esau flees, but NOT before he takes what he was really after: Nimrod’s “valuable garments” which gave him great power!!
“And when Esau saw the
mighty men of Nimrod coming at a distance,
he fled, and thereby escaped;
and Esau TOOK the valuable garments of Nimrod,
which Nimrod’s father had bequeathed to Nimrod,
and with which Nimrod prevailed over the whole land,
and he (Esau) ran and concealed them in his house.”
(Jasher 27:10)
(We will learn more about these “valuable garments” a little further along).
And, here we find exactly why Esau was so willing to sell Jacob his birthright for a bowl of soup in that famous passage most are familiar with found in Genesis 25:29-34 …
“And Esau took those garments
and ran into the city
on account of Nimrod’s men,
and he came unto his father’s (Isaac’s) house
wearied and exhausted from fight,
and he was ready to die through grief
when he approached his brother Jacob
and sat before him.
“And he said unto his brother Jacob,
Behold I shall die this day,
and wherefore then do I want the birthright?
And Jacob acted wisely with Esau in this matter,
and Esau sold his birthright to Jacob,
for it was so brought about by the Lord.”
(Jasher 27:11-12)
Now, here is the passage which describes in more detail the agreement which Esau made (and signed) with Jacob …
“And Esau’s portion in the cave of the field of Machpelah,
which Abraham had bought
from the children of Heth
for the possession of a burial ground,
Esau ALSO sold to Jacob,
and Jacob bought all this
from his brother Esau for value given.
“And Jacob wrote the whole of this in a book,
and he testified the same with witnesses, and he sealed it,
and the book remained in the hands of Jacob.”
(Jasher 27:13-14)
Yet, in “Part 1” of this Chapter we read where Esau would later try to convince Jacob’s sons that Jacob did not own the cave in which he was to be buried.
Joseph then told Esau they still had the signed purchase deed which Jacob and Esau had signed and agreed upon, and Joseph sent a messenger back to Egypt to get the document.
However, the fight between Esau and the sons of Jacob took place before the messenger could return, and Joseph defeated Esau and was able to bury Jacob in the tomb which Abraham had bought.
Nimrod’s “Valuable Garments” (which Esau took)
In these remarkable passages below we find that through these “valuable garments” (which Esau took) Nimrod WAS most likely “clothed” with a measure of supernatural power (which allowed him to rise, conquer, and rule over the whole Earth), and that Esau may have inherited this supernatural power after he “conquered” (slew) Nimrod and obtained the “source” of Nimrod’s power for himself!!
We are first given the genealogy of Nimrod (whose name means “Rebel”) and also learn that he caused men (Mankind) to rebel against God “again” (as they did before the Flood!)
“And Cush the son of Ham, the son of Noah,
took a wife in those days in his old age,
and she bare a son,
and they called his name Nimrod, (“Rebel”)
saying, at that time (of Nimrod)
the sons of men AGAIN began to rebel
and transgress (sin) against God.”
(Jasher 7:23)
Now, it gets interesting as we’re told where the supernatural source of Nimrod’s great power came from (and we also get a glimpse into the unsavory character of Nimrod’s grandfather Ham and his father Cush) …
“And the garments of skin
which GOD made for Adam and his wife (Eve),
when they went out of the Garden (Genesis 3:21)
were given to Cush.
“For after the death of Adam and his wife,
the garments were given to Enoch, the son of Jared,
and when Enoch was taken up to God (“Raptured”),
he gave them to Methuselah, his son.
“And at the death of Methuselah,
Noah took them and brought them to the Ark,
and they were with him until he went out of the Ark
And in their going out,
Ham stole those garments from Noah his father,
and he took them and hid them from his brothers.
And when Ham begat his first born Cush,
he gave him the garments in secret,
and they were with Cush many days.
And Cush also concealed them
from his sons and brothers,
and when Cush had begotten Nimrod,
he gave him those garments
through his love for him,
and Nimrod grew up,
and when he was twenty years old
he put on those garments.
And Nimrod became STRONG
when he put on the garments,
and God gave him might and strength,
and he was a mighty hunter in the Earth”
(Jasher 7:24-30)
We find the source of Nimrod’s power was in the “valuable garments” which God had made for Adam and Eve to cover their nakedness in the Garden, which also apparently provided them with some measure of supernatural power over both man and beasts.
Nimrod: The Leopard King
Ancient writings and tradition say these garments were made from Leopard skins (which is why Nimrod is sometimes called the Leopard King … and also sometimes called the Black King because he was born in the area around Ethiopia.
We find a reference to this in Jeremiah …
“Can the Ethiopian change his skin
or the leopard its spots?”
(Jeremiah 13:23)
This was because the Lord warned His fury would rise as we find the children of Israel were still worshiping Nimrod’s wife the “Queen of Heaven” (Semiramis, Ishtar, Venus, Isis) in the Land of Israel a thousand years later …
“The children gather wood,
the fathers kindle the fire,
and the women knead dough,
to make cakes for the Queen of Heaven,
and they pour out drink offerings
to other gods (like Nimrod and Ishtar),
that they may provoke Me (God) to anger.”
(Jeremiah 7:18)
Then, even after God had destroyed Israel and scattered the people because they were worshiping Nimrod (Baal) and his wife Semiramis (Ashtarte, Ishtar), the “Queen of Heaven,” the wives of the children of Israel angrily told Jeremiah that they would NOT stop worshiping the “Queen of Heaven” …
“Then all the men who KNEW
that their wives had burned incense
to other gods (Ishtar and Nimrod/Baal),
with all the women who stood by, a great multitude,
and all the people who dwelt
in the land of Egypt, in Pathros,
answered Jeremiah, saying:
“As for the word that you have spoken to us
in the Name of the Lord,
we will NOT listen to you!
But we will certainly do
whatever has gone out of our own mouth,
to burn incense to the Queen of Heaven
and pour out drink offerings to her,
as we have done, we and our fathers,
our kings and our princes,
in the cities of Judah
and in the streets of Jerusalem.
For then we had plenty of food,
were well-off, and saw no trouble.
But since we stopped
burning incense to the Queen of Heaven
and pouring out drink offerings to her,
we have lacked everything
and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.”
(Jeremiah 44:15-18)
Then, the women wanted to make sure Jeremiah knew their husbands approved of it!!
“The women also said,
“And when we burned incense to the Queen of Heaven
(the is the same “Woman” we find in Revelation 17)
and poured out drink offerings to her,
did we make cakes for her, to worship her,
and pour out drink offerings to her
without our husbands’ permission?”
(Jeremiah 44:19)
ESAU RISES
By killing Nimrod and then taking possession of the source of the power which Nimrod formerly held, Esau would then inherit and be clothed in all of Nimrod’s (Satanic) power over those dark and demonic forces of evil which were then being unleashed by the “Woman” who had already begun to spread her false religion across the face of the Earth, for after her death people believed she (Ishtar, Venus, Isis) supposedly ascended to heaven to become the “Queen of Heaven” to rule alongside her husband, the long dead King Nimrod, who also supposedly became the Sun-god Jupiter (in Rome) after his death, and the son Tammuz (the future Antichrist) would rise as both the “father” (Sun-god) and “son” of the Sun-god.
This also fits the prophetic model of Ahab and Jezebel (“Jeze-Baal” which means daughter of Baal).
Even though Ahab was King over Israel, it was Jezebel who really wielded power. It was her (and not Ahab the King) who ordered (and connived) the death of Naboth for his garden, which King Ahab submitted to … and it was Jezebel who threatened to destroy the prophet Elijah (who then fled into the Wilderness) while Ahab stood silently by and allowed her to wield the power to threaten such a thing.
In fact, Jesus even warns of Jezebel in one of His letters to the seven Churches found in the book of Revelation.
In His letter to Thyatira (Revelation 2:18 … a warning of the Roman Church) Christ rebukes them for allowing Jezebel’s religion (the “Woman”) to creep into the Christian church.
This becomes even more prophetically interesting when we consider the ancient town of Thyatira (which means “daughter”) was first named “Semiramis!!”
If this is the case, Esau (through Satan) may have become the “successor” to the throne of Nimrod (Baal, Jupiter, now renamed “Peter” by modern Rome) with the “Woman on the Beast” of Revelation 17 (Venus, Semiramis, Ishtar, now renamed “Mary” by modern Rome) ruling alongside him as his “Queen” (exactly as we find prophesied in the book of Revelation)!!
