Much like Climatologists gather and analyze data to help forecast when and where a powerful hurricane might strike, Bible Prophecy scholars have also been gathering and analyzing Biblical data for over 2000 years to help prepare prophetic Forecasts as to when the coming Apocalypse will one day suddenly strike the Earth with immeasurable force leaving nothing behind but a small remnant of Mankind left reeling under its total and utter devastation.

And, just like climatologists, the closer we get the more finely tuned and accurate the forecasts and models will become.

As we will find below, the current Models – Forecasts now include Year 2023 as a possible year the World may start to see a series of prophetic events which the Bible compares to “birth pangs” which will mark the beginning of the end.

Since almost 30% of the Bible is prophetic (telling of future events), and has so far been 100% accurate, it is worth at least taking a look at why many feel we may now be getting close to “the Time of the End” (and how to avoid it) …

The Coming Apocalypse

The Bible warns the coming “Apocalypse” will last exactly 7 prophetic years (2,520 days) from “Start to Finish” … during which most of all Mankind will be utterly destroyed.

Jesus Christ warns …

“For then there will be Great Tribulation,
such as has not been
since the beginning of the world until this time,
no, nor ever shall be.
And unless those days were shortened,
no human being (flesh) would be saved”
(Matthew 24:21-22)

The prophet Daniel was told …

“And he (the angel) said,
“Go your way, Daniel,
for the words are closed up and sealed
UNTIL the Time of the End …
and NONE of the wicked will understand,
But the wise WILL understand.”
(Daniel 12:9-10)

Even Isaac Newton wrote …

Sir Isaac Newton (who wrote more concerning Bible Prophecy than he did about Science and Mathematics combined) came to the following conclusion …

“About the time of the end,
a body of men will be raised up
who will turn their attention to
the prophecies of the Bible
and insist on their literal interpretation
in the midst of much clamor
and opposition.”

WHEN will the “Apocalypse” take place?

Over many years a number of Prophetic Forecast Time-Lines and Models concerning the “End-Times” (also called “The Great Tribulation,” “The Day of the Lord,” “The Apocalypse,” “The 70th Week (7 years) of Daniel,” and “The Time of Israel’s/Jacob’s Trouble”) have been presented which have all been based on valid Scriptural possibilities.

Most prophetic Time-Lines forecast the year which would mark the END of the coming 7-Year Apocalypse (also called the Tribulation/Great Tribulation period) when Messiah (Jesus Christ) will return to fully restore the Earth and to rule over Israel (and the whole World).

However, since many believe a major prophetic event sometimes called the “Rapture” (which we will review further below) must take place sometime BEFORE the 7-Year Apocalypse/Tribulation begins we will review forecasts including both the END and the START dates for people to consider.

Prophetic Time-Line Estimates

Below is a list of prophetic Time-Line estimates which have been presented and studied over the years. As noted above, since the Bible warns the coming Tribulation Period (Apocalypse) will last 7 Years, we will include both the “START” and the “END” years (AD), when applicable:

2000 – 2075 Range: The 6000 Year (“7th Day” from Creation) prophecy which the early Church fathers and Jewish leaders both agreed upon)

1981 – 1988: Based on Israel’s return as a nation (1948) + 40 years as in the Wilderness (Passed)

2011 – 2018: Based on Israel’s return as a nation (1948) + 70 years for a generation (Psalm 90:10) (Now Passing)

2023 – 2030: Based on a recent study using the Ezekiel 4 “Days of Judgment” prophecy (a video link will be provided below to walk through this interesting prophetic study and interpretation which documents why we may be closer than we think).

This prophetic estimate carries a high degree of urgency, and although their “4004 BC” AM (Anno Mundi) and “30 AD” (Crucifixion/Resurrection) dates are somewhat earlier than other recent, well-documented studies propose, their prophetic timeline (as shown in the video link below) is based on sound and valid Bible Prophecies.

2023 – 2037: Based on Jerusalem becoming re-united as Israel’s Capital (1967) + 70 years for the length of a generation (see the “Prophecy Notes” at the end of this article) and then allowing an additional 7 Years for the prophetic Russia/Magog attack against Israel to take place (Ezekiel 38-39). This is also based on the possibility the “7 Seal Judgments” found in the book of Revelation might represent a 7-year prelude to the final 7-Year Apocalypse (“70th Week of Daniel”) which is described in the “Scroll” itself.

This prophetic timeline “stretches” the Jerusalem/2037 estimate to the fullest by adding an extra 7 years to accommodate the coming Russia-Iran War against Israel (Ezekiel 38-39) and its aftermath before a coming World Leader (the Antichrist) will gain enough power to “enforce” a “Peace Plan” upon Israel which will start the 7-Years of the coming “Tribulation/Apocalypse” period appointed for Israel and the World to end their rebellion against God and His Word (the Son of God … the promised “Messiah” … Jesus Christ)

2027 – 2037: Also based on Jerusalem (1967 + 70 years) as above, but this time adding only 3.5 years as a prelude to the final 7-Year Apocalypse as detailed in the “Scroll” itself for the coming prophetic Russia-Iran War against Israel to take place (which could fit into the Jewish “10 Days of Awe” model as found in the Jewish “Fall Feasts”). This is also based on the possibility the “7 Seal Judgments” found in the book of Revelation might be a 3.5-year prelude to the final 7-Year Apocalypse as detailed in the “Scroll” itself.

This prophetic timeline “stretches” the Jerusalem/2037 estimate by adding an extra 3 1/2 years to accommodate the coming Russia-Iran War against Israel (Ezekiel 38-39) and its aftermath before a coming World Leader (the Antichrist) will gain enough power to “enforce” a “Peace Plan” upon Israel which will start the 7-Years of the coming “Tribulation/Apocalypse” period appointed for Israel and the World to end their rebellion against God and His Word (the Son of God … the promised “Messiah” … Jesus Christ)

2030 – 2037: Based on Jerusalem becoming re-united as Israel’s Capital (1967) + 70 years for the length of a generation (see the “Prophecy Notes” at the end of this article for the 70 estimate). This timeline is currently becoming the most active among Bible scholars today.

2061 – 2068: Based on Israel’s return as a nation + 120 years for a generation (see the “Prophecy Notes” at the end of this article for the 120 estimate)

2081 – 2087: Based on Jerusalem becoming re-united as Israel’s Capital + 120 years

Note: Isaac Newton arrived at 2060 (as well as 2016 or 2034 in his later writings) as possible fulfillment estimates.

According to the book of Daniel (and Sir Isaac Newton), “knowledge” concerning these things will “increase” as we approach the coming “Apocalypse” and we will be able to fine tune our estimates as we start to see those Signs the Bible warns we would see (just learn the prophecies and watch the news).

God has lovingly provided many warning signs (which almost no churches or synagogues teach today) in order to prepare and protect all those who will take the Bible seriously (through faith in His Word) sometime before the coming great and terrible “Day of the Lord.”

As we move closer to the prophetic climax to all human history as we know it, we crossed off those prophetic forecasts or models above which were based on Israel’s prophetic return as a Nation (in 1948), and are now focusing on Jerusalem’s prophetic reunification with the nation as Israel’s capital (in 1967), which may even have additional prophetic support as the “trigger” event …

“Seventy weeks (of years) are determined upon thy people
AND upon thy Holy City (Jerusalem),
to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins,
and to make reconciliation for iniquity,
and to bring in everlasting righteousness,
and to seal up the vision and prophecy,
and to anoint the most Holy.”
(Daniel 9:24)

Note that the “Nation” of Israel is not mentioned here … only Jerusalem, “Thy Holy City.”

Also, the FIRST “69 (62 + 7) Weeks” of this prophecy were precisely fulfilled when Messiah (Jesus Christ) was “revealed” on Palm Sunday exactly when the Bible said He would be … and the Nation Israel DID fulfill a remarkable Bible Prophecy when it became a nation once again in 1948 (prophecy links below).

WILL YEAR 2023 BE PROPHETICALLY SIGNIFICANT?!?!?

As noted above, 2023 IS the next year that falls within the current Scripturally-based “Forecasts” or “Models,” and as with all the earlier estimates, it should be taken seriously, especially as we see so many prophetic “Warning Signs” now converging in today’s Generation.

Watch Russia.

The Bible warns Russia along with Iran, Turkey and other allies will attack and invade Israel, and that when this happens Israel and the World will know “That Day” has begun (Ezekiel 38-39).

This coming War of the Ages will trigger irreversible events which will lead the whole world into the coming Apocalypse and Armageddon.

We also know that America will be “neutralized” (as a free nation) sometime just before this takes place and will be unwilling or unable to help defend Israel, for the Bible says Israel with have to stand alone … with God!!!

Here are some of the prophetic warning signs the Bible tells us to “watch” for which will rise to identify the Generation upon which ALL those things foretold in the book of Revelation (the “Apocalypse”) will take place:

Israel back in her Land as a sovereign nation … (The clock started in 1948!!!)
Jerusalem reunited as Israel’s capital (fulfilled in 1967 after 2,500 years)
A Russia & Iran Alliance (A coming prophetic War of the Ages)
China Rising in Power (will one day destroy 1/3 of Mankind)
Troubles in Gaza!!! (Gaza is linked to the ‘Apocalypse’)
A Generation marked by “Violence and Immorality”
A Generation marked by “Lying and Deceiving”
A Generation marked by “Lawlessness”
Wars and Rumors of Wars
Ethnic Tension and Brutal Ethnic Wars … increasing!
Deadly Diseases Spreading
Strong Earthquakes Around the World
Global Weather Extremes (Heat, Cold, Historic Storms)
Knowledge and Travel Increase (unlike any other time)
Many Churches No Longer Teaching Sound Doctrine
Protestant Churches Drifting Back To The Roman Church
Roman Religion and Roman Kingdom (Empire) Rising
Hatred Against Bible-Believing Christians Growing
Push for A ‘One-World’ Global Economy & Government
Syrian Powder Keg (Utter destruction of Damascus lies ahead)
Jerusalem: A “Cup of Trembling” (Armageddon will be fought over Jerusalem!)
Global Efforts For A ‘Peace Plan’ In Israel (Apocalypse begins the very day it’s enforced!)

Jesus Christ then warns:

“When you SEE these things,
Know that it is NEAR – –
AT THE DOOR!!”
(Mark 13:29)

Yet, the Bible also warns people around the World will just yawn, scoff at, and ignore these prophetic warnings of the coming global catastrophe sometimes called the “Apocalypse.”

Our Blessed Escape

We are told all those who sincerely believe in Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, and humbly wait for Him in love and faith, are not “appointed” to go through the coming ‘Apocalypse’ which will one day engulf the whole world …

“And to wait for His Son from Heaven,
whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus (Yeshua),
who delivers us FROM the wrath to come.”
(1 Thessalonians 1:10)

The Scriptures warn us Jesus Christ will return . . . TWICE:

First, “As a thief in the night” . . . FOR those who waited in faith

Second, “Every eye shall see” . . . WITH those who waited in faith

A Few “Rapture” Prophecies:

“Behold, I tell you a mystery:
We shall not all sleep (die a bodily death),
but we shall all be changed
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trumpet.
(See the “trumpet of gathering” Numbers 10:11-14)
For the trumpet will sound,
and the dead will be raised imperishable,
and we shall be changed.”
(1 Corinthians 15:51-52)

“For the Lord Himself
will descend from Heaven with a shout,
with the voice of an archangel,
and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain
shall be caught up (raptured) together
with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air.
And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

“Come, MY people,
enter your chambers,
and shut your doors behind you;
hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment,
until the indignation (the great Tribulation) is past.
For behold, the LORD comes out of His place
to punish the inhabitants of the Earth
for their iniquity (the coming Apocalypse)”
(Isaiah 26:20 – 21)

“Seek the LORD,
all you meek of the Earth,
Who have upheld His justice.
Seek righteousness,
Seek humility.
It may be that you will be hidden
in the Day of the LORD’S anger.” (The coming Apocalypse)
(Zephaniah 2:3)

“Because you have kept
My command to persevere,
I also will keep you from the hour of trial
which shall come upon the whole World,
to test those who dwell on the Earth.”
“Behold, I come quickly (suddenly)!”
(Revelation 3:10-11)

“But of that day and hour no one knows,
no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”
(Matthew 24:36)

“Then two men will be in the field:
One will be taken and the other left.
Two women will be grinding at the mill:
One will be taken and the other left.”
“WATCH therefore, for you do not know
what hour your Lord is coming.”
(Matthew 24:40-42)

Please Remember

No human being (man or woman) will EVER know “the day” or “the hour” the coming Rapture will take place …

“But of that day and hour NO ONE knows,
no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”
(Matthew 24:36)

At this point there may be some of you saying …

“Okay, so, WHAT DO I DO NOW?!?!?”

First of all, here is one thing Jesus Christ commands us all to do …

“WATCH therefore, (learn the signs we are to watch for)
and pray ALWAYS
that you may be
counted worthy to ESCAPE
all these things
that WILL come to pass . . .”
(Luke 21:36) (It’s through faith in HIS “worthiness” and not ours!!!)

The Bible warns us to “examine” ourselves, and below is an imperfect description of those who will escape the coming “Apocalypse” … and those who will be left behind and trapped in it.

To simplify things, let’s try to divide all of the people in the world into four groups:

Those who sincerely love, believe, and trust in Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah. All those (both Jew and Gentile) who believe Jesus Christ willingly and lovingly suffered and died upon the Cross for all of our sins, was buried, and then rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15), and love Him for enduring all that He suffered while shedding His innocent blood for us. Those who have sincerely accepted Him as their Lord and Savior (who saves us from all of our sins and from Hell). The Bible also promises all those who are “eagerly awaiting” for His return will be “counted worthy to escape” (be removed or raptured from) the coming Apocalypse.

Those who call themselves Christians, but don’t really believe these things, and have no real love or faith in Jesus, God, or the Bible. Those who don’t believe they will need a Savior to get into Heaven. Those who have never willingly opened the door of their hearts to invite Jesus into their lives and receive Him as their Lord and Savior. Those who don’t believe, or take the Bible (or Christ’s return) seriously, and will not be ready to go with Him when He returns suddenly, “as a thief in the night.” For the Bible warns that no regular church attendance or crosses around our necks can ever save us without Godly repentance (acknowledging and turning away from our sins) and placing all of our faith and trust in Jesus Christ’s completed work on the Cross, where He demonstrated His perfect love for us.

Those who do NOT believe, and who ridicule, scoff at, or despise those who do. Those who deny Jesus as Lord and willfully reject His loving offer of forgiveness and His freely offered gift of eternal life in Heaven. Those who think all of this Bible stuff is just plain crazy. These will not escape, but will enter into “The Day of the Lord” … the coming Apocalypse.

Those children of Jacob (Israel) who have not yet accepted Yeshua (Jesus) as their promised Messiah have a clear prophetic destiny. Watch Israel. Israel is God’s timepiece in Bible prophecy, and all the prophecies of the coming ‘Apocalypse’ revolve around the tiny nation of Israel … the only nation which God calls His own.

It appears that only those believers in Group 1 will be “Raptured,” (or go to Heaven if our bodily death comes first) and thus be safely removed and hidden before the coming Apocalypse. Many churches, pulpits, synagogues, and pews will still be filled. Many people will be left behind.

Note of interest: The Bible warns of a coming World Leader who will be revealed sometime soon after the Rapture. This coming world leader has been given many names and titles in the Bible, both in the Old and the New Testaments … one of his ‘titles’ is the “Antichrist.”

There are some who feel this coming world leader may even powerfully convince those who are left on Earth after the Rapture that this missing segment of global population was kidnapped or removed by a much different kind of “alien” force.

Why Use “70” or “120” Years In The Prophecies?

Jesus Christ gave us us a Prophetic Parable concerning the “end-time” events …

“Now learn this parable from the fig tree (an idiom for nation Israel): When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves (when you see Israel and Jerusalem once again under Jewish control), you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things (the prophetic warning signs listed above) know that it is near—AT THE DOORS! Assuredly, I say to you, THIS generation (who sees Israel/Jerusalem reunited) will by no means pass away till ALL these things take place (all of the events which will take place during the coming Apocalypse).”
(Matthew 24:32-34)

The Bible then provides details concerning the length of a generation in two verses:

“The days of our lives are seventy years;
And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, (there may be a little “wiggle room” here)
Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow”
(Psalm 90:10 … a Psalm written by Moses)

And, back in Genesis (when life spans were still around 800-900 years), the Lord said …

“My Spirit shall not strive with man (mankind) forever, for he is indeed flesh;
Yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
(Genesis 6:3)

We find later that Noah was “a preacher of righteousness” and for exactly 120 Years he warned the people of the coming destruction (just as many are trying to warn people today), yet, they ignored him and only 8 people were saved!!!

This is why we first estimate the length of a generation at 70 (or up to 80) years because Moses wrote Psalm 90 after the Flood when average lifespans had shortened to what they are today.

CALENDAR NOTE:

This year the BIBLICAL “New Year 2023” Begins on March 23, 2023 (on both the Modern Jewish Calendar AND on the Ancient Jewish “Dead Sea Scrolls” Calendar)

We find this “New Years Day” given in Exodus where God tells Moses,

“This month (the month of Passover … Nisan in Babylonian and Abib in Hebrew)
shall be for you the beginning of months.
It shall be the first month of the year for you.”
(Exodus 12:2)

COULD “THE DAY” OF BATTLES AND WAR BEGIN IN 2023????

Nobody knows for sure, and we are just doing the best we can to present what the Bible says concerning these things in order to help warn and prepare others for what now lies ahead.

Two of the Forecasts/Models above show 2023 may be a prophetically significant year.

The Bible DOES warn Jesus will return for those who are to be protected and sheltered from the coming Apocalypse/Tribulation at a time when WE LEAST EXPECT IT … “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye!!!” … and, we are told to be “eagerly awaiting His return” (it’s called our “blessed hope”).

So, let’s end this study with those words of warning which Jesus Christ has spoken to warn and prepare all who will simply love, believe, and trust in God’s Word …

“When you SEE these things,
Know that it is NEAR – –
AT THE DOOR!!”
